Staycation here in the North Okanagan… so many lovely beaches and things to do, why leave? We are so lucky to have such an abundance of places to swim, sunbathe, be out on the water in the hot summer months. Cool off and spend time with friends and family while enjoying a day out close to home. It can't get better than that!

Kal Beach

Find families at Kal Beach for its easy access, amenities and soft sand that keep the kids busy with their toys. Kin Beach, on Okanagan Lake also has the added bonus of a playground, change rooms and undercover BBQ area to celebrate whatever occasion.

If more off the beaten path is for you, you'll find adventurers and hikers at Cosens Bay and Juniper Bay which are located in Kalamalka Provincial Park. Further out of town, Foster Road Beach can be found in Beachcomber Bay if a more quiet spot is needed.

Dog lovers and their four legged friends consider Sandy Beach or Hurlburt Beach when contemplating a trip to cool off and meet old friends and make new ones.

Find crystal clear water and hiking trails are also a bonus at Ellison Provincial Park as well as climbing, diving, cycling and camping nearby if a day there just isn’t enough. All age ranges are found here - great for families and groups of friends alike.

Lake Country, as the name suggests, boasts beautiful beaches worthy of a day visit including the serene Kaloya Park and spacious Pixie Beach. Kekuli Bay also has several beaches and connects to the Okanagan Rail Trail. Popular with bike riders and tourists, these beaches make a great spot to cool down and relax while enjoying the views.

If a city scene is more the thing, try Hot Sands Beach in Kelowna. This shared space with City park, has a spray park for the kids, inflatable water park for all ages and lots of activities to keep everyone busy with a short walk into the Downtown for food and shopping.  Popular with teens, young adults and families.
